The President’s Last Message
Yes, believe it or not, my year is finally in site and as of Sept. 30th, I will be a Past President. I will get to sit in the crowd and be myself. I must admit it has been a very good year and has relatively gone by fast. Thanks to all. I would like to extend my grateful appreciation and Thanks to all that have truly made my term enjoyable. To John Lassos, for his ever presents as the house monitor, membership chairman, board member and for his encouragement and ideas that have been helpful. To Gary Marshall for being my sidekick as our club secretary and sharing the Program Role with Jack Good. Jack Thank you for being involved and willing to help at every opportunity. To Jerrie West, who has been our Treasurer and been on top of our filings for taxes and keeping the books straight. She has been through a lot with her daughters illness, but has been able to make most meetings. To Dori Hartman, who has pitched in to help with the treasurer’s job while Jerrie was away and board member / historian on all Kiwanis events, procedures and international’s Methods and procedures . To Vicki Burkhalter board member and, who is so organized, that it drives me crazy but very appreciated by myself and everyone, even when she is away on vacations. To Ed George, who is a board member, and my right hand man on the car show, my special thanks for all the behind the scenes work that you do. You also are an excellent egg flipper. To Rich McRae, a board member and a workaholic who is totally involved in everything we do as Kiwanians. To Dave Sebastian, our beloved Pastor and board member. He keeps things in perspective and adds to the humor at our meetings. To Mike Lindman, board member and Kitchen Chief for most of our Dinners and Pancake breakfasts, Chief purchaser of supplies and sometimes printer. To Paul Holmquist, who is a board member and our resident graphics artist at heart and has done so many things that saves our club money, that will help more kids in our community. Thanks a million for all your efforts. To Joe Cooper, a board member and President Elect (VP), he has given us all a look at other clubs that he either belongs or has been associated with. Now he can brag about our club, since he will be our President starting October 1st. Now you are probably wondering why I have not mentioned Harvey Left, but he is one of the most dedicated individual to the cause of helping Children in our community. He is involved in everything that focuses on Children. He is my sounding board, he is my butt of jokes and harassment. I hope he realizes that I love the man. A Special Thank You. A thank you goes out to all the membership for supporting me by your attendance at meetings and participation in the many functions that we do to raise funds for the children of our mountain communities. This is a super organization and it has been a fun journey during this term. Thank You, All! See you all at the Car Show Dinner and Show. Bob
