Sierra-Oakhurst Kiwanis Newsletter
JUNE 2017 Joe Cooper,
PRESIDENT PRESIDENT’S CORNER…… Here goes another message. As you all know, Bob Spinelli has stepped up to the plate again, and will be the next President. The year is winding down, many of our activities are getting in full swing. Tomorrow we will have finished our Sierra Tel breakfast, getting ready for Ribfest on the 24th and the many other projects we have in the pipeline. I have enjoyed being the President this year even though Ram tries to steal the bell any chance he has. Projects, membership, good times with each other, and service to the community have been and will continue to be a hallmark of local Kiwanis clubs. The Sierra Oakhurst club is no exception to that standard, and we can all be proud of what we do in our area, Division, District, and International. Until next month, that’s going to be it.
JOE BOARD NOTES Music in the Meadow Mini Fundraiser turned out well. We served a little over 100 guests offering pulled pork or turkey hot dogs.
Condolences to: The family of Tom Barnett. Services will be June 9 at 10:00 am at the Little Church. Sue Graham on the loss of her brother, Roger. Services will be June 9 at 2:00 pm at the Little Church. Rich and Emma McCrae, on the loss of Emma’s sister Ed George on the loss of a cousin
CoarsegoldK- Kids helped clean up Fresno Flats on Friday, June 2 as part of their community service responsibilities. They weeded, swept and planted to beautify this historic site. Coarsegold K-Kid officers, Kylie Best, Julian Fisher, BreannaBuchannan, Zach Palmer, Kaylee Smith, Justin Micallef and Nick Guynn, along with their advisor, Angela Moons, took time out of their school day to help Sierra-Oakhurst Kiwanis. They hope to make this a yearly event!
